DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVITIES

The ICCD is pleased to present a new calendar of activities under the leadership of Religious Director and Imam, Sheikh Mostafa Abu Saif. Activities include educational, community-building, and social events for Muslims of the Capital District. Unless otherwise noted, all activities are open to all who are interested. The following activities will take place in the ICCD building.

B Tafseer of the Holy Quran and Hadeeth from Sahih Muslim (Includes Ijazah) Monday, Wednesday, Thursday & Saturday After Fajr Prayer 10 – 15 minutes
C Community Fun Day: Educational (tajweed, tafseer, memorization) and recreational activities for youth
which may include periodic full day events
Sunday After Fajr Prayer After Fajr until 10:00 AM (may include full-day events)
D Forty Hadeeths of Imam Al-Nawawi (Book Discussion) Monday, Thursday & Friday After Asr Prayer 10 – 15 minutes
E Tajweed Class: Learning proper Quran recitation Potluck Iftar (please bring your favorite dish) Monday After Maghrib Prayer & Iftar 1 hour
F Women’s Session: Q & A about women issues Wednesday After Maghrib Prayer 45 minutes
G Fiqh Class (Based on the four Madhhabs) Thursday After Maghrib Prayer & Iftar 30 minutes
H Chat with the Imam: Informal opportunity to discuss any topic Friday (Jummah) After Jummah Prayer 1 hour
I Seerah of the Prophet (SAWS): The life of the Prophet (PBUH) Friday After Maghrib Prayer 45 minutes
J Arabic Language Class Saturday After Asr Prayer 90 minutes

1. Monthly Itikaaf on Fridays (start date to be confirmed)
2. Competition in memorization and interpretation of Surahs as completed.
3. Appointments can be made in advance for one-on-one consultations with the Sheikh.
4. Initial Dawah activities focused on the neighboring community around the ICCD.
5. Classes for new Muslims.
